TRC-101B
Comparison of size to some of the other portables. It's even bigger than the TRC-212 by a bit.
Seems to work fine.
The antenna jack is a mini-phone jack (2.5 or 3.5mm)...don't see that much these days.
The mic/speaker are 2.5 and 3.5mm on the top. Glad they went away from that in later radios.
Takes 10 Alkaline or TWELVE nicads. LOTs of batteries. Wants to see 15 volts I guess.

New talkies
Ran across some "new" oldies to try out. All Radio Shack /Realistic
TRC-216 - A lot like the TRC-212, but smaller and more plastic
TRC-217 - There are a zillion of these on Ebay. Basic radio.
TRC-221 - I LIKE this radio...mainly because it has a signal strength meter.
Haven't really had time to try them all out much or get any pics...

Transphonic CB
Back in about 1977 I had a Transphonic brand CB that my dad got as a premium for opening a CD account at a bank....
I think I still have it and it's in BAD shape....
Anyway...anyone ever heard of that brand or have one?
It looked a lot like a Teaberry...T Charlie One: Shown below...swiped from ebay.. same color woodgrain, same channel knob and same meter.
